Biography

Michelly Peixoto is a PhD student in the Language & Literacies Education (LLE) program.

Research projects:

  • Development of the Test of Higher Order Language (TOHOL) under the supervision of Dr. Esther Geva and co-investigator Dr. Fataneh Farnia (Graduate Assistant)
  • Systematic Review on ‘Writing development among speakers of oral and non-standardized languages in the primary years’ under the supervision of Dr. Shawna-Kaye Tucker

Research interests

I am interested in Deaf Education, specifically in the literacy development of Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, literacy policies, and literacy pedagogies in Deaf Education.
