��ݮ����Ƶ���� alumni Drs. Cindy Sincliar and Ahmed Ilmi were each recently recognized with one of 17 awards, presented by the ��ݮ����Ƶ���� African Alumni Association during the seventh annual GOWN: African Scholars Awards. The initiative is founded and led by another alum, and current PhD candidate, Henry Ssasli.

Addrew B. Campbell receives the 2024 Boonoonoonos Black History Month Award

Tanitiã Munroe, a PhD candidate in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education, leads a research team that trains Black students in youth participatory action research (YPAR).

Alum, community champion and trailblazing politician Jean Augustine recalls that her ��ݮ����Ƶ����, U of T education gave her possibilities and an expanded horizon.

Dr. Keren Brathwaite, an ��ݮ����Ƶ���� alumni and 2009 honorary degree recipient at the ��ݮ����Ƶ����, passed during the week of June 23, 2023.

On June 9, the Centre for Black Studies in Education (CBSE) at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (��ݮ����Ƶ����) officially launches.

Currently, Dr. Alexander teaches a course called “Pedagogies of Abolition” that is drawn from their research.

��ݮ����Ƶ���� Professor George Dei, a renowned Black scholar, researcher, writer, and community leader, has been named a co-recipient of the 2023 President’s Impact Award.
