The Centre for Black Studies in Education (CBSE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Andrew B. Campbell as the new Director. We are excited for the leadership that Professor Campbell will bring to CBSE.

The Centre for Black Studies in Education would like to express its gratitude to our outgoing Co-Directors, Professor Ann Lopez and Professor Njoki Wane.

²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ alumni Drs. Cindy Sincliar and Ahmed Ilmi were each recently recognized with one of 17 awards, presented by the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ African Alumni Association during the seventh annual GOWN: African Scholars Awards. The initiative is founded and led by another alum, and current PhD candidate, Henry Ssasli.

Addrew B. Campbell receives the 2024 Boonoonoonos Black History Month Award

The Centre for Black Students in Education opened its doors in January 2023, with the official unveiling taking place in the summer of 2023.

The Centre for Leadership & Diversity (CLD) 4th Annual International Conference was held on ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ 13th-14th, 2023 at ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½.

The LHAE Black Student Connect hosted its inaugural event on September 15th, 2023.

Tanitiã Munroe, a PhD candidate in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education, leads a research team that trains Black students in youth participatory action research (YPAR).
